Mold stains on a butcher block table?
I have a maple butcher block table with mold stains. I've tried sanding, but it seems like the mold is very deep and its not helping. Anything I can use to remove the stains? The table is used for baking, so whatever I do needs to be food grade/safe.
Go to your local hardware store and ask them. I'm sure there are Clorox products out there that will kill the mold. Or, you might go to http://www.clorox.com and ask them if you use clorox bleach directly on the wood, would it be unsafe to then put food products on the wood.
I'm surprised at that problem. Butcher block is supposed to have a natural sanitizer in it and shouldn't really have mold stains. maybe it's not mold at all that you see -- maybe it's just stains from time and use?
