What does getting your cartilage pierced feel like?
I want to get my cartilage (top of my ear) pierced for my 15th birthday.
I've heard it hurts, alot. hah
I've read you have to get it done with a needle at a tattoo parlor, instead of with a gun at a place that just does normal ear piercings. I've also heard that you can't lay on it, and it hurts for like the next year?
I have no idea what to believe, whats the deal?
Everyone has a different pain tolerance so we really cannot tell you how bad it will hurt. I've had 4 different helix (cartilage) piercings and they have all varied with pain.
Please do get it done with a needle...guns are so risky and so dirty...plus the cheap jewelry is so crappy for piercings.
Mine have never hurt as long as a year...I'd say they stop getting sore around month 3 or 4. I have a newer one that is almost a month old and it still gets sore but nothing too bad. You want to avoid laying on it and putting a lot of pressure on it...I lay on mine from time to time and find that when I do it usually becomes a bit sore.
