Why would you have placecards for a cocktail or dessert reception?
I read recently that this is supposed to do. But why? I can understand and accept that clients need a table and a chair to park their stuff, but if customers do not have to sit down to eat at any time, unlike a buffet or plated meal, place cards have absolutely no sense at every cocktail reception or a dessert because it keep customers to feel able to stand and mingle which is what these guys are destined in the first place.
I agree that it makes no sense. I do knew that they were recommended. I guess the only reason I can see is if customers would need a place to sit while the family, wedding and grooms are introduced and speeches.
