Ladies: How does the way I decorated my Victorian apt sound?
Beige walls (not allowed to paint), with a white trim, and burgundy curtains, a plant hanging off a rod on top of the window looking above my television, cherry walnut furniture, a stitched rug with a large golden square etched in a burgundy like trim and also......
What color should my poster frames be? Can they be black? What places sell cheap frames that are gold colored?
And also I have a couch, what color cover should I put on it?
And lastly, my bathroom has powder blue walls with a light white trim. Is it ok if my bath rug and shower curtain are burgundy too?
Thanks to all of you for your suggestions and your compliments.
They're appreciated........
1] not black - that is traditionally used for dead loved ones. Try cherry or cherry colored wood, or a metal - gold or silver. Be sure they fit victorian theme.
Try chain stores, like Michael's, and onlinestores for cheap frames in brass or cherry.
2] Suggest couch cover in gold, burgundy, beige; or print of any two. Add throw pillows in gold, burgundy or beige also to tie it all together.
3] plants [ ferns would be great ] should be on a stand per Victorian theme.
4] the burgundy curtain and rug will be great with the blue walls. Add some blue, burgundy, or brass [ gold ] accessories [ toothbrush holder, soap dispenser, tissue holder, trash basket ]. If you have counter space, add a small African violet, and a fat candle.
Buy sets of light blue [ wall color ], burgundy [ curtain/rug ], and gold [ accessories ] towel sets.
Congrats! Sounds great!
