Can I put a tall bookcase in my living room where my toddler plays?
I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old and our place is small. I don't really have a place for our books and they are starting to stack in big piles wherever, I just need a bookshelf and the only place I have to put it is against a wall in my living room. Now, I've found the kids climbing tables when I'm coming back from the bathroom (which probably means they would climb the bookcase too in just a few minutes), should I resign to get a bookcase for their safety and our sanity or should I get a small one, or a big one and deal with the hassle that it might bring?
Yes, just be very sure that you get someone to anchor it to the wall, instead of just placing it against a wall. If you anchor it, it's safer and if your child happens to climb on it, it won't tip over. It's easy, doesn't cost a lot, and it well worth it!
