Callaway X-20 or X-20 Tour?
I'm buying a new set of irons tomorrow and I have two different options to choose from from two different sellers. The Callaway X-20's or the Callaway X-20 tours... both are the same price and I won't have the opportunity to demo them before buying... I'm getting them off c list and both are 45 minutes away from me in opposite directions. I shoot around 100 mostly with an occasional round getting in the mid 90's... I'm not one who can shape the ball or anything at this point. I need an iron that will be the most forgiving. I've played with Ping eye 2's since I started playing golf and it's time to move up. Any help would be appreciated.
If you want the more forgiving club then go with the X-20's. I actually use a set of X-20's myself. Very good set of clubs. The really good thing about these clubs is that while they are quite forgiving, they sting you a little when you miss the sweet spot. The ball still flies pretty well, but it let's you know when you miss. It's a great feature for anyone who wants forgiving irons but am looking to improve their ball striking. The tour version are less forgiving designed for more accomplished players who want to work the ball more but do not want to go to a forged or blade irons. If you are just focused on hitting the ball straight and solid then go with the X-20's. Good luck.
