How much space should I keep on either side of my bed for proper feng shui ?
I have a small room and my bed is sticking to one side of the wall , I read it is bad to keep it like that so I shifted it a bit so that there is some space in between ( About 6 inches )
Is that enough for chi to flow ?
i think you are misunderstanding what fengshui is really about. forget about what books tell you because chances are, those authors do not know anything about what fengshui is about. to prove my point, try to read 5 fengshui books, then try to put all pointers together - all won't make any sense.
fengshui is a vast subject. it has many branches from face reading, destiny calculation, tweaking the environment/ house to improve life, fengshui for the dead to make you rich, predictions, etc.
what most people are reading about is the fengshui branch that deals with improving life. but it is not that easy to understand. because most people just want a quick fix which fengshui is not.
yes, there is such a thing as chi flows. but not the way you understand it. energy flows thru the house thru the main front door. this energy is not a vibe that you can feel. you can only calculate to know its nature. another thing is that this energy has a time element, meaning it has a life cycle from peak to expiration. so when an energy is expired, then even it can be good, it can have a fatal effect.
since, energy occupies space. the bigger the space, the more energy it contains. then energy can either be good or it can be bad. the characteristics is not general but specific and distinct, depending on the energy distribution based on door facing and time. so, in fengshui, the trick is to live more in the area with good energy.
regarding your problem, again, the smaller the space, the less energy it contains. there is energy, and it flows. the important thing i think is what quality of energy is in your bedroom. because if your bedroom contains bad energy, then there is really no remedy for this but to move rooms. it is just not possible inb fengshui to make a bad energy into good by just using things or by remedies.
all energy in the house flows, whether you like it or not. but when it flows, it does not mean that it is good. the important thing is that you live more in areas where there is good energy. movement (even by your clock or dog or fish) can activate (both good and bad) energy. if you activate energy, then whatever its characteristics is, it becomes your life.
it is hard to explain what fengshui is really about, because there are many methods/ theories like flying stars, destiny calculation, 8 mansions, etc.
